Liz Thompson is an award winning real estate attorney in Savannah, Georgia with over thirty-five years of experience in Savannah and Macon, Georgia, handling purchase and refinance transactions, both residential and commercial, and other ancillary real estate work. She is also a licensed mediator.
Liz has been recognized by Georgia Trend magazine as Legal Elite in the field of real estate law for many years, as well as Best Lawyers in America-Georgia and the Atlanta Journal Constitution in the field of real estate. She has served as director of the Younger Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia, receiving the Commitment to the YLD Award. The Savannah Bar Association recognized her outstanding service to the community with the John B. Miller Award. She has served on the Board of the Real Property Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia, as well as the Board of the Georgia Real Estate Closing Attorneys Association. She has spoken at numerous legal continuing education seminars.
She has received awards for outstanding volunteer work from both the Coastal Children’s Advocacy Center and Neighborhood Housing Services. The Savannah Jaycees gave her the Distinguished Service Award, and the Georgia Jaycees recognized her as one of Five Outstanding Young Georgians. She is a graduate of Leadership Savannah and a long-time member of the Junior League of Savannah. She was a member of Rotary Club-Savannah South for many years, and enjoyed volunteering with the Victim Witness Assistance Program.
She was elected to the Konter Hall of Fame for the Savannah Area Realtors. She was chosen as the Savannah Area Realtors Affiliate of the Year in 1992, 2010 and 2020. The Savannah Women’s Council of Realtors has honored her with the President’s Award, Member of the Year and Affiliate of the Year. The Savannah Young Council of Realtors has named her as Affiliate of the Year, as has the Macon Women’s Council of Realtors. She has been a Board member of the Savannah Women’s Council of Realtors and the Savannah Mortgage Bankers Association for many years.
